Brightening Turmeric & Vitamin C Peel-Off HydroJelly Mask (exclusive)

If you didn’t read the blog I just posted then go read it (How to Make Peel-Off Face Masks) It goes right along with this formula and I go into detail about the Peel-off Mask base and my experience with making a peel-off mask from scratch. Which I still haven’t given up on!

Out of all the peel off masks I made, this one was my favorite and the one I was most excited about as I think I did a pretty good job at making a face mask with some amazing ingredients while dealing with a lot of limitations on what ingredients I could use. (Since this is a powdered product)

I’m gonna be using this Peel-Off Face Mask Base from makesy.com to create a

Brightening Turmeric & Vitamin C Peel-Off Mask

Formula

  • 90.45% Peel-off base

  • 3% Turmeric Powder

  • 2% Niacinamide

  • 0.05% ULMW Hyaluronic Acid

  • 1% N-Acetyl Glucosamine, NAG

  • 2% Lemon Peel Oil

  • 1% Vitamin C (tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate)

  • 0.5% Vitamin E

50 gram recipe (fills two 2 oz jars and half of a 1 oz jar)

  • 45.23 grams Peel-off base

  • 1.5 grams Turmeric Powder

  • 1 gram Niacinamide

  • 0.025 grams ULMW Hyaluronic Acid

  • 0.5 grams N-Acetyl Glucosamine, NAG

  • 1 gram Lemon Peel Oil

  • 0.5 gram Vitamin C (tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate)

  • 0.25 grams Vitamin E

Benefits of each ingredient;

Peel-off base - it’s the base, without it this won’t work.

Turmeric Powder - said to help brighten skin.

Niacinamide - can help improve the overall appearance of skin. Helps with dull skin, enlarged pores, dark spots, fine lines etc. Great ingredient for all skin types and daily use. Commonly used in brightening products as well.

ULMW Hyaluronic Acid - found naturally in our skin. HA helps hydrate the skin. This is ultra low molecular weight so this will not thicken when it comes into contact with water.

N-Acetyl Glucosamine, NAG - (read about here) This is the brightening ingredient. this ingredient doesn't change the pH, it isn't pH sensitive, it dissolves and mixes into water easily, so it makes it perfect for beginners and for a mask like this.

Lemon Peel Oil - helps enhance the clarity and glow of the skin

Vitamin C (tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate) - an oil soluble ester of vitamin C that is much more stable than L-ascorbic acid. Which I don’t recommend using.

Vitamin E - antioxidant

Directions;

  • Combine all ingredients and mix with a whisk. If you have clumps you can use a sifter.

  • Keep mask stored in powder form. If you mix it with water it will harden to a gel. Only mix with equal parts of warm water when you are ready to use the mask.

How to Use Mask;

Mix powder with equal parts warm water and mix until there are no clumps. Apply an even thin layer on desired area of body. (Can be used on face or body.) Mask takes about 10-20 minutes to dry. Once you see it drying along the edges the mask is ready to peel off. Do not let it sit until it dries completely or else it will be hard to take off. Peel once the edges start turning white and dry.
