Formula;
Phase A
72.84% Distilled Water
5% Glycerin
0.5% Disodium EDTA *
Phase B
2% DM350 Dimethicone *
2% Shea Butter (refined)
2% Petrolatum (Petroleum Jelly) *
0.16% Sodium Carbomer *
0.5% Palmitic Acid
0.5% Stearic Acid
0.5% Myristic Acid
Phase C
0.5% Vitamin E
0.5% Liquid Germall Plus *
Directions;
In a heat safe and sanitized container mix together the phase A ingredients.
Tare scale and place phase A back on the scale. Write down how much phase A weighs. (Including the beakers weight too) We will be heating this up and some of the water is going to evaporate, we will need to replace this water after it’s been heated.
In a separate sanitized heat safe container, combine all ingredients in phase B.
Cover phase A & B with foil and place in a water bath. (How to make water bath: Fill a pan with about an inch of water and place it over your stove top on medium heat.)
Heat until phase B has melted and both phases are around the same temperature. 70°C/158°F
Remove phase A from heat and place on scale and replace any water that evaporated. Normally it's about 1 gram or less.
Remove phase B from heat and pour phase A into phase B.
Immediately mix with an Immersion Blender/stick blender. Let Cool (don’t mix with immersion blender once it starts to thicken. This can add too much air into the lotion)
While your lotion cools we can work on phase C
In another sanitized beaker combine all ingredients in phase C.
Once the lotion has cooled to 104°F / 40°C add in the phase C ingredients and mix. (Don’t mix with the immersion blender)
Check the pH. It should be between 4.5 - 6.5
Let cool to room temperature and then cover with Plastic Wrap and let sit overnight.
The next day you can package your lotion in a jar of pump bottle.

Caprylic Carpric Triglyceride - emollient
Sodium Carbomer * - gel thickener / emulsion stabilizer
Palmitic Acid - superfatting agent, thickener, emollient
Stearic Acid - emollient, thickener / co emulsifier
Myristic Acid - emollient, thickener / co emulsifier
Vitamin E - antioxidant
Liquid Germall Plus * - preservative

Distilled Water - Hydrosol, Floral Water, Essence Water, or Aloe Vera Liquid
Disodium EDTA * - Natural Alternative: Sodium Phytate
Isopropyl Palmitate - Caprylic Carpric Triglyceride, Coco Caprylate/Caprate, *C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, or any other emollient ester of choice. A natural plant oil could also work.
Glyceryl Stearate SE - Ritamulse SCG, Olivem 1000, Emulsifying Wax NF*, Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG 100 Stearate*, or any All-In-One Emulsifier of choice.
DM350 Dimethicone - Cyclomethicone Natural alternative: Natrasil, Neossance Hemisqualane
Shea Butter (refined) - Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter or any other butter of choice or oil or emollient ester of choice.
Petrolatum (Petroleum Jelly) * - Natural alternative: Biolatum™
Caprylic Carpric Triglyceride - any oil of choice or emollient ester.
Sodium Carbomer * - Natural alternative: Xanthan Gum Soft
