Rainy Day Foaming Sugar Scrub
Foaming Sugar Scrub

Formula
Phase A
2% Stearic Acid
2% Glycerin
2% Sorbitol - 70/100 liquid
7% Distilled Water
8% Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI)
Phase B
0.5% Liquid Germall Plus
2% Fragrance Oil
Phase C
70.5% Cane Sugar (or other Coarse Sugar)
Directions;
In a heat safe mixing bowl combine all ingredients in phase A. (Always wear a respirator when working with SCI)

Place bowl in a water bath to melt ingredients to combine. (A water bath is a pan filled with an inch or so of water. Place your pan on your Stove Top on medium heat.) Come back periodically and mix to help dissolve the SCI and melt the Stearic acid to combine.

Once everything is melted and all of the SCI chunks have blended with the rest of the ingredients you can remove the bowl from heat.
Pour into a stand mixer and start whipping it it. (I started on a low speed for the first minute, then slowly increased the speed until I had it on high)
While slowly increasing speed, this was also when I sprinkled in my mica powder until I got my desired color.

Continue mixing on high until everything becomes fluffy. This should fluff up a lot as it cools in the Stand Mixer. You could also hand mix with a Hand Mixer.
Once it cools to 100°F / 40*C you can add in phase B and keep mixing with mixer until incorporated then remove from mixer.

Cover with Plastic Wrap and let sit until next day before adding in the sugar.

The next day add in your sugar and combine. For this phase I use gloved hands to incorporate the sugar.

Grab your mold of choice and pour into molds. I used this Cloud Mold
Let sit over night and remove from mold the next day. You can use these bars immediately after removing from the mold.

How to use Shaving Bars
Wet shaving bar and massage onto wet skin. Massage onto skin until the area you want to shave is coated with the shaving bar. Then shave as usual.
