How to Make Bath Bombs - w/ Sanrio Surprises Inside (Earlee Release) Blog Version

Formula;

Phase A (Dry Ingredients)

Phase B (Wet Ingredients)

2,000 Gram Recipe;

Phase A (Dry Ingredients)

Phase B (Wet Ingredients)

Substitutions;

Benefits/purpose of each ingredient;

Directions;

  • Put on a respirator or mask & combine Phase A (Dry Ingredients) in a large bowl and mix with a whisk or with your hands. I found it easier to mix with my hands(Gloved). Also make sure to break up any chunks.

  • In a separate container combine Phase B (Wet Ingredients) and mix.

  • Pour Phase B (Wet Ingredients) into Phase A (Dry Ingredients) a little bit at a time while mixing with a spatula or with your hands(Gloved). If you only have oil soluble ingredients in phase B then it won’t cause the dry ingredients to fizz, but if you do have water soluble ingredients in phase B, be aware of that.

  • You want to make sure that the mixture is a moist sand texture. You want to be able to pack it together like a snowball. If you   notice it is not moist enough, add in a little bit more oil and mix that in until you get that moist sand snowball packing texture.

  • Once the two phases are combined, you can divide it up into separate bowls, depending on how many colors you want to make.

  • I divided mine up into 4 separate bowls; coloring one Blue with FD&C Blue N0. 1 Aluminum Lake. Pink using Voodoo Red-Pink Mica, Green using Grass Green Water Soluble Liquid Colorant, & White, which didn’t need any coloring.

  • I did a combination of white with pink, white with blue, white with green, and then some other bath bombs were a random blend of colors, but you can do whatever  combination of colors you want. Just make sure that the coloring you use is safe for bath products. Normally blue micas and green micas are not safe for baths or lip products.

  • If you do use a manual bath bomb press make sure you do not pack the mold too tightly. If you do, the bath bomb will break in half. I had a lot of issues with the manual bath bomb press at first because I was packing the mold way to tightly and pressing down the press too hard. You want to  gently pack the mold and barely press down the bath bomb press. Once you get the hang of it, it’s super simple and worth the investment.

  • What I did was hide little Sanrio Characters in the bath bombs, because I gave these away as gifts and I wanted little surprises on the inside. You can also add some Dried Flowers on the inside or on the outside for some decoration. Try adding some Pink Himalayan Salt on the inside or on the outside. Get creative with it. You can look  up some pictures on Pinterest of bath bombs to get some ideas as well.

  • Once you have all the bath bombs formed. You want to leave them to sit for a day or so. You just wanna make sure that they are hard to the touch and they don't crumble or break apart when you pick them up.

  • And now you have bath bombs you can use anytime you take a bath.

How to use a Baths Bombs;

Fill up your bathtub with water and once it's at least halfway full or all the way full, depending on your preference, you just drop the bath bomb in.
